Students will learn how to write essays in this course. They will learn about what the elements of a good essay are, the organization of an essay, and some specific suggestions for writing appealing essays. They will also learn the specifics about certain genres of essay. Students will also be taught specific writing skills that are aligned with the CEFR level of their course.

到達目標
By the end of this course, students should have attained knowledge of how to organize an essay, and what kind of elements make an essay good. They will have specifically learned how to write both narrative and cause/effect style essays. Students will have also learned a variety of shorter, practical writing skills.

1. Course introduction  Students will learn about how the course will proceed and the types of writing they will be expected to learn. They will also be given a chance to do some writing to show their teacher their current level. 
2. Textbook Chapter: Exploring the Essay(1)  Students will be taught part of the textbook chapter and learn the writing skills involved regarding writing essays. Students will also learn a practical writing skill aligned with the CEFR level of the course. 
3. Textbook Chapter: Exploring the Essay(2)  Students will continue to be taught part of the textbook chapter and learn the writing skills involved regarding writing essays. Students will also learn a practical writing skill aligned with the CEFR level of the course. 
4. Textbook Chapter: Exploring the Essay(3)  Students will continue to be taught part of the textbook chapter and learn the writing skills involved regarding writing essays. Students will also learn a practical writing skill aligned with the CEFR level of the course. 
5. Textbook Chapter: Exploring the Essay(4)  Students will continue to be taught part of the textbook chapter and learn the writing skills involved regarding writing essays. Students will also learn a practical writing skill aligned with the CEFR level of the course.

7. Free Writing / In-class Peer Review(1)  Students will engage in free writing practice to help find common student errors. There will also be an in-class peer review of their ungraded free topic essay. 
8. Textbook Chapter: Narrative Essays(1)  Students will begin to learn about narrative essays and the writing skills necessary to create them though the textbook chapter. Students will also learn a practical writing skill aligned with the CEFR level of the course. 
9. Textbook Chapter: Narrative Essays(2)  Students will continue to learn about narrative essays and the writing skills necessary to create them though the textbook chapter. Students will also learn a practical writing skill aligned with the CEFR level of the course. 
10. Textbook Chapter: Narrative Essays(3)  Students will continue to learn about narrative essays and the writing skills necessary to create them though the textbook chapter. Students will also learn a practical writing skill aligned with the CEFR level of the course.
